Canaries Trust to become shirt sleeve sponsor of NCWFC for 2021-2022 Season

The Canaries Trust is proud to be the supporters trust for both the Norwich City mens’ and womens’ teams and has actively been supporting Shaun Howes and his County Cup winning team during the 2019-2020 season. Due to this ongoing relationship, and our passionate belief that football is for all, we are proud to announce the Canaries Trust will be the shirt sleeve sponsor for NCWFC as they begin their new season at The Nest.

Following on from our recent survey, and our work with numerous supporters groups during the BK8 sponsorship debate, we felt it was only right we continue openly our support of diversity and inclusivity in football and demonstrate our support of the womens’ team through sponsorship. During the 2020-2021 season the Canaries Trust will be the shirt sleeve sponsor of the home kit and the season long sponsor of one player.

The Trust will also sponsor one home game at The Nest. Norfolk is seeing unprecedented growth in girls playing football as well as continuing interest in the growth of the womens’ game - through supporting NCWFC the Trust hopes to encourage more fans to attend games at The Nest, more girls and women to play or support football and more local organisations or businesses to support the Norwich City women’s team.

Canaries Trust Chair, Robin Sainty said: ““We made a statement of intent in appointing Sarah Greaves to the Trust board as a dedicated women’s football ambassador, and this sponsorship is a logical step in our determined drive to promote the women's game in Norfolk and beyond.”

Womens’ Football Ambassador at the Canaries Trust, Sarah Greaves stated: “We are proud to continue our ongoing support of NCWFC and wish them well during the new season. AmeriCanaries are also sponsoring two players and we actively encourage other fan groups and local businesses to get behind the womens’ team as they start their promotion pushing campaign in the National League - we all want to see Shaun and his team continue to progress with the ultimate aim being the Womens’ Super League. If anyone is interested in supporting the team through sponsorship or more generally at matches or in other voluntary roles please don’t hesitate to get in touch.”

Louise Riseborough, Chairperson of NCWFC finishes by saying“‘We are delighted to welcome Canaries Trust onboard as one of our sponsors, and look forward to working together to promote the female game”.
