Our Work

Untitled design.png

Football is a rapidly changing industry in which the views of fans often seem to be ignored.

Due to its status as the third largest shareholder in Norwich City the Trust meets quarterly with the Club at board level to discuss strategy and planning issues and ensure that the voices of fans are heard.

The Club and the Trust have recently signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which sets out the relationship between the two parties.

With the Club under new ownership the Trust’s work is even more important, as we seek to develop new relationships with the owners, and we have already had discussions with Mark Attanasio.

However, the more members we have, the greater our potential impact.

Our view is that the best result for fans is achieved by dialogue, rather than protest, but any good working relationship must allow for disagreements from time to time. However, by building trust on both sides we feel that we have found a balance that works for all parties, supported by our partnership with national groups like the Football Supporters Association, Fair Game and Her Game Too.

We also work hard in the Canary community, helping local foodbanks, supporting the CSF’s Healthy Fans initiative and working with international fan groups to help them connect better with the Club.

In addition to those meetings our Corporate and Social Responsibility lead also meets with the Club on a quarterly basis to get answers on issues that matter to fans, like the matchday experience, stadium safety and facilities, and food and drink.

We also run a very successful mental health signposting service, supported by daily posts, and have played a part in the development of women’s football in general, and Norwich City Women’s FC in particular.

By being a member of the Canaries Trust, you effectively become a shareholder in Norwich City Football Club for £12* per year – considerably less than the price of an individual NCFC share, but more importantly it also allows you to support our work, or perhaps get involved in it?

By allowing fans to own shares collectively we can ensure that owning a share of the Club becomes a realistic goal for many Norwich City fans, so why not join us?

*£12 per year is the cost for an adult membership.  Please visit our complete range of membership options here.
