A view from a Norwich City Women’s Football Club fan: Welcome to our new coaches

Canaries Trust Board member Chris Clarke follows NCWFC home and away. He gives his view on the new team leading the women’s team following last season’s promotion.

So, the news we’ve been waiting for since the shock departure of Andy Cook has arrived – Perry Northeast is new the Head Coach of Norwich City Women’s Football Club.

Welcome to Norwich, Perry.

He joins from Brighton and Hove Albion where he spent the last seven years working with their Academy and First teams. His roles included Head Coach and Head of Academy, where he lead the side, twice, against the Canaries in cup competitions.

Perry also has had a spell in charge of Portsmouth’s women’s team almost leading them to the WSL2 in 2015 and the FA Cup quarter-final the year before.

It has also been announced that former NCWFC captain and club legend Megan Todd will be joining Perry as Assistant Coach.

Megan played 96 times for the Canaries, scoring 26 goals, including the winner in our first game at Carrow Road. She also helped the team secure three County Cups.

Megan is a highly-qualified and experienced coach with obvious knowledge of our club.

Meanwhile, it has also been confirmed that Hugh McCluskie will remain at the Club as Assistant Coach and Goalkeeping Coach after joining us last season from Wolverhampton Wanders.
