In a new feature, we will be asking fans, staff and those connected to Norwich City various questions both in written form and, we hope, in recorded interviews as we seek to expand our offering for Trust members.
Our Media and Communications Head Richard Clinnick gives his answers below, and keep an eye out for more Q&As to follow. OTBC.
Hello! Can we have your name and occupation please?
Richard Clinnick, Journalist
What is your connection to Norwich City?
I’ve lived in Norfolk since 1986 and my Dad was a Norwich fan even though he, and his entire family, came from Devon – he used to holiday on the Broads, so it came from there.
Why Norwich City?
Local team, able to go as a young lad with friends…I was hooked.
Explain the club to someone who doesn’t know much about it.
You’ve heard of one club cities, well Norfolk is a one club county and Norwich City is the centre of so much of the community. We’re also the first ever leader of the Premier League!
What does Norwich City mean to you?
Belonging, community, trying to do things the right way, fun.
What are your immediate hopes for the club?
Retain Big Phil at all costs, finish the season strongly and look forward.
Great, now for some quickfire questions
Favourite current Norwich City player?
Paris Maghoma
Favourite all-time Norwich City player?
As M&C head I’m breaking my own rules and having a few! Hucks, Gabriel Sara, Maddison, Howson, Wes, Emi, Pukki, Grant Holt…
Favourite all-time Norwich City game?
Man Utd away in December 2015 – the Tettey toe poke! Went with mates, it was a long day, but what a day!
Favourite all-time non-Norwich City football game?
It’s very recent but Inter Milan 2 – Napoli 2 at the San Siro on 12 January 2026. I’d always wanted to go to an Italian game since I watched Gazzetta Football Italia on Channel 4, and while that wasn’t my first (that was Torino vs Genoa last October), it was a massive game and didn’t disappoint.
Favourite away ground?
Rotherham – it’s friendly and quite fun. Least favourite away ground? Spurs treat away fans quite badly I thought, or Wrexham.
Favourite footballing memory (doesn’t have to be Norwich City-related)?
Norwich 2 – Liverpool 2 on 5 February 1994. The first game I went to with my Dad, who sadly passed away when I was in my early 20s.
