In a new feature, we will be asking fans, staff and those connected to Norwich City various questions both in written form and, we hope, in recorded interviews as we seek to expand our offering for Trust members.

Laurie Egan, Retired

What is your connection to Norwich City?


I’ve lived and worked in Norfolk since 1987

Why Norwich City?


Well, I’ve always loved football. When I first arrived in Norfolk I lived opposite Micky Phelan and I was hooked

Explain the club to someone who doesn’t know much about it


Norwich City are a well-respected club in the EFL and a founder member of the Premier League

What does Norwich City mean to you?


We’re a great football club, but much more importantly, Norwich City is a community club and community leader - the heartbeat of the city and county.

What are your immediate hopes for the club?


Remain in the Championship, have a good run in and finish as high up the table as possible.

The FA Cup quarter-final away against Spurs in March 2020 - Todd Cantwell’s keepy uppies on the way to take his penalty …brilliant!


Favourite all-time non-Norwich City football game?


Has to be England v Germany World Cup final 1966, I watched at home on a small black and white TV. I was 8, Dad was on shift work. Mum couldn’t watch when Germany scored, Dad was home for the second half and extra-time. A few months later they released a film of the Tournament which Dad and I went to see.


Favourite away ground?


Tottenham Hotspur Stadium


Least favourite away ground?


Crystal Palace (Selhurst Park)

Favourite footballing memory (doesn’t have to be Norwich City-related)?


The play-off final win 2015


First football memory (doesn’t have to be Norwich City-related)?


Being taken to see Charlton v Aston Villa at the Valley with my cub pack aged 7
